How does Novitera work?

Sellers list their pre-loved professional audio, video, and lighting equipment with descriptions, photos, condition details, and pricing. Buyers can browse listings and message sellers directly to ask questions, negotiate terms, and arrange collection or delivery.

Is Novitera only for Singapore users?

Yes, Novitera is built exclusively for the Singapore market.

  • All listings must be located in Singapore.
  • All prices are in SGD.
  • Most transactions are expected to involve local pickup or delivery within Singapore.
  • Overseas visitors may browse listings, but all listings must originate from Singapore. Any shipping arrangements are handled directly between buyer and seller.

We strongly recommend that buyers and sellers clearly discuss and agree on shipping, payment, and handover terms before completing any transaction.

What account types are available on Novitera?

Novitera supports both Individual and Business accounts. Individual accounts are intended for freelancers, crew members, engineers, musicians, and private owners who occasionally sell equipment.

Business accounts are intended for rental houses, studios, production companies, venues, dealers, and other regular sellers with larger inventories.

Different listing limits and seller access may apply depending on your account type.

Do I need to be a paid member in order to browse and contact Sellers to buy equipment?

No. Browsing listings and messaging sellers is available to all registered users at no cost.

Do I need to be a paid member in order to start selling?

Not always.

Individual users can list up to 2 active items at a time without a paid Seller Membership. After which your posting permissions change. Once you close a listing, you regain posting permissions again.

Business users and regular sellers who need expanded selling may subscribe to an active Seller Membership to create listings and access seller features. This give you unlimited listings. Seller Membership billing is securely managed by our payment provider and renews annually unless cancelled.

Does Novitera handle payments for buyers and sellers?

No. Novitera does not process buyer–seller transactions. Payment methods and transaction terms are arranged directly between buyer and seller. This gives both parties maximum flexibility when closing deals.

Can I cancel my subscription?

Yes, you can cancel your subscription at any time. You can manage or cancel your subscription via the “Manage Billing” link at the top of the site. Your subscription will remain active until the end of your current billing period. There are no refunds for partial periods. If you need assistance, please email support@novitera.sg.

What happens to my existing listings when I unsubscribe?

Existing listings remain visible and can still be managed. However, creating new listings requires an active Seller Membership.

What if I have a dispute with a seller or a buyer?

We encourage buyers to inspect equipment carefully before completing payment and sellers to confirm payment terms before handing over equipment. Novitera does not act as an intermediary and does not provide formal dispute resolution for transactions arranged through the platform.

If you encounter fraudulent, abusive, misleading, or prohibited behaviour, please contact support@novitera.sg. Reports may be reviewed and could result in warnings, suspension, or account removal where appropriate.

We recommend keeping communication within Novitera where possible and documenting important agreements before completing a transaction.

Can I leave or receive reviews?

Reviews are not yet integrated into Novitera. If you would like to submit feedback about a completed transaction, contact support with details of the interaction. Submitted reviews may be reviewed and published at Novitera’s discretion.

Is my personal data safe?

We collect and process personal information in accordance with Singapore’s PDPA laws. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for details.

Buying & Selling FAQs

What type of items can I list on Novitera and how do you determine "professional" equipment?

In general, we consider equipment to be “professional” if it is designed for commercial, production, broadcast, touring, rental, studio, or event use rather than casual consumer or home use.

  • Professional audio equipment (mixers, speakers, microphones, amplifiers, DSPs, wireless systems)
  • Lighting equipment (moving lights, LED fixtures, lighting consoles, dimmers)
  • Video and broadcast equipment (cameras, switchers, monitors, media servers, streaming gear)
  • Rigging and staging equipment
  • Studio and production accessories
  • Networking and control equipment used in professional AV environments

To maintain the quality and relevance of the marketplace, Novitera reserves the right to remove listings that fall outside the intended scope of the platform.

What are the rules for listing items?

  • All listings must be accurate with clear photos and honest condition descriptions.
  • You must have the legal right to sell the equipment listed.
  • Prohibited items include stolen goods, faulty items sold as working, or items that violate copyright/intellectual property.

Can Novitera remove or reject listings?

Yes. We may remove, edit, suspend, or request changes to listings that violate platform rules, fall outside Novitera’s intended categories, contain misleading information, or create safety concerns.

Can I edit my listing after it is published?

Yes. You can update photos, descriptions, pricing, and availability at any time from your account dashboard.

How long do listings stay active?

Listings remain active until removed or closed by the seller. Sellers may edit, close, or remove listings at any time.

Can I list items on behalf of my company?

Yes. Companies and freelancers are both welcome. Please include your company name clearly in the listing details and seller profile where applicable.

How do listing limits work for Individual accounts?

Individual accounts can have up to 2 active listings at any one time. When a listing is sold, closed, or removed, you may create another active listing. This allows occasional sellers to list equipment without requiring a Seller Membership, while helping maintain a fair and relevant marketplace experience for all users.

I received an email saying "your user rights on Novitera have changed. You can no longer post listings." Why is that?

This usually means your posting access has been paused. If you are using an Individual account, this may happen when you already have 2 active listings. Once one of your active listings is closed or removed, posting access should be restored automatically.

If you are using a Business account, your Seller Membership status may have changed.

If you believe this is an error, please contact us at support@novitera.sg and let us know what happened.

How do I arrange pickup or delivery?

Pickup, delivery, and shipping arrangements are handled directly between buyer and seller. We recommend meeting in safe public locations or using trusted courier services for delivery.

What should I do before completing a transaction?

We recommend:

  • Meeting the seller in person to inspect the gear
  • Testing the equipment if possible
  • Taking photos/videos during handover
  • Using traceable payment methods

Can I reserve an item for a buyer?

Novitera does not enforce reservations. Sellers and buyers should communicate availability directly. Sellers may update listing status at their discretion.

Does Novitera offer returns or refunds?

No. Transactions are arranged directly between buyer and seller. Any return, refund, or exchange arrangements should be discussed and agreed between both parties before completing the transaction.

How can I report a suspicious listing or user?

Please report any suspicious or rule-breaking listings/users by writing to us at support@novitera.sg detailing the rule infringed and a link to the listing in question.

Novi Verified

What is Novi Verified?

Novi Verified is a profile review feature on Novitera. It means selected profile, contact, business, or account information provided by the user has been reviewed by Novitera.

A Novi Verified badge helps identify profiles that have gone through an additional review process.

Who can apply for Novi Verified?

Novi Verified is available to businesses and freelance professionals who would like to add credibility to their profiles on Novitera.

This may include rental houses, studios, production companies, AV professionals, equipment owners, and other users in Singapore’s production and AV community.

What information do I need to submit for Novi Verified?

For businesses, we may review publicly available information such as your business name, UEN, website, business email, or social media profiles. We may also ask for information that helps us confirm that the applicant is authorised to represent the business.

For freelance professionals, we may review publicly available information such as your LinkedIn profile, portfolio, website, social media profiles, or other relevant professional references.

Our review usually starts with information that is already publicly available online. If there is insufficient information available, we may request additional supporting information to help us complete the review.

Novitera will never ask for government-issued ID details for Novi Verified.

To apply, contact us at support@novitera.sg and let us know you would like to be verified. We’ll guide you through the process.

Can my Novi Verified application be declined?

Yes. All applications are subject to review, and approval is not automatic.

If we are unable to review or confirm the information provided, we may not be able to grant the Novi Verified badge. Where possible, we may request additional supporting information to help complete the review.

You will be notified by email if we are unable to approve your application.

How much does Novi Verified cost?

Novi Verified is available for a one-time fee of SGD $49.

When do I pay for Novi Verified?

Payment is only requested after your application has been approved.

We will provide you with a Stripe payment link by email. Once payment has been confirmed, your Novi Verified badge will usually be added to your profile within 48 hours.

How long does the verification process take?

The verification timeline depends on the information available to us and whether any additional supporting information is required.

We’ll aim to provide an update within 10 business days from your application.

Does Novi Verified mean listed items are verified?

No. Novi Verified applies to the user profile only. It does not mean Novitera has inspected, authenticated, certified, endorsed, or guaranteed any listed item, transaction, payment, delivery, collection, authenticity, seller conduct, buyer conduct, or agreement between users.

What happens if I delete my profile?

If your profile is deleted or you decide to leave Novitera, the Novi Verified badge will be removed. If you create a new profile later, your verification will need to be reviewed again.

Is the Novi Verified fee refundable?

Once your application has been approved and the Novi Verified badge has been added to your profile, the Novi Verified fee is non-refundable.

If your profile is later deleted, or if the badge needs to be removed because your profile information is no longer accurate or eligible, or because of misuse of the Service or breach of Novitera’s Terms of Service, the fee will not be refunded.
